Lecture and Seminar 3
Today's lecture was quite different in comparison to our usual lectures but it was nonetheless interesting. We had two guest speakers. The first guest speaker was a member of staff from the academic regulations team and he briefly spoke to us about the rules, regulations and potential consequences of any form of misconduct in an exam or coursework. Personally, I found this extremely essential as it helped me to understand the do's and dont's about examinations and cleared any questions I may have had in regards to what is acceptable and not acceptable. The second guest speaker was a women called Emily, who runs her own business called 'Bizzie bodies' and she gave a presentation on her business, this was vital as the first half of our coursework is based on this business idea. Overall, it was a good presentation and I really understood the basics of her business and I am excited to go on and analyse it further. Finally, Haider presented our lecture on Infrastructure systems, where we learnt about different components of the IS infrastructure and different types of computer networks; which was also good.
During our seminar lesson, we finished off the case study on a business analysis and went on to do some work on excel and continued the use of the 'IF' function, this was extremely helpful as it reinforced my knowledge around this topic. We were also given our coursework details and as groups we decided what each member of our group would do in order to contribute towards the workload, this was also good. We also arranged a meeting out of seminar hours to further contribute towards the coursework unit.
